In 1989, he founded Financial Management Group (FMG), a fee-only® comprehensive financial planning and investment advisory firm registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission. FMG was named twelve consecutive years as a “Top Wealth Manager” by Wealth Manager magazine, and as a “Fastest Growing” Registered Investment Advisor by Financial Advisor magazine.
In 2015, Brett sold FMG in order to devote his time and expertise exclusively to writing a second book, and developing a website www.quietmillionaire.com as a practical educational resource for baby boomer entrepreneurs who want to build the value and sellability of their businesses.
As both a Certified Financial Planner™ and a Certified Value Builder™, Brett utilized the Value Builder System™ to first-hand build the value and sellability of his own business as well as to now comprehensively guide other baby boomer entrepreneurs do the same for their businesses.
His professional memberships have included the Financial Planning Association (past President of the Cincinnati Chapter), National Association of Personal Financial Advisors, Cincinnati Estate Planning Council, and he is a trustee for the Higher Education Advisory Institute, a non-profit organization that educates families about college planning and financing.
A graduate of Ursinus College with Major in Economics and a Minor in Psychology, he completed graduate studies at Temple University as well as post graduate executive education studies at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. Brett and his wife Sandy reside in SW Florida Florida and travel extensively.
